We have been having such a wonderful October here that I have been having the time of my life with my camera. Weekend before last, we had a fantastic storm with heavy gusts of wind. I was painting in my room at the time, but finally I just had to bundle up in warm clothing, put my Wellies on and head out with an umbrella.
Leaves swaying heavily in gusts of wind
I walked quite a few miles all on my own before heading back home. The gusts were so strong that my poor umbrella was hardly able to keep up. I was so mesmerized by the sound of rain pattering on my umbrella, the singing of the rain under the grove of oak trees, the swishing of the wind and the vibrant colours of the sky that I never realised how wet I got.
Fallen leaves all over the path
Even the dark asphalt took on the vibrant colour of the sky
Rainbow from the setting sun
After that brilliant storm over the weekend, we had a dry and hot Santa Ana. This weekend weather has cooled off again, and clouds are gathering in the sky. Eager to be outdoors, we decided to visit the local pumpkin patch this Sunday afternoon.
Orange is not the only colour
Flowers are not for Spring alone
The strange ones
The flamboyant ones
Happy Autumn Everyone!

Love your post, there is such a variety! It really is a great way to capture FALL! Now I see this again, the color and shapes of the green pumpkins is very unusual. Do they taste the same as the orange ones? (can you tell, don’t know too much about pumpkins:):) )
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with SEASONS, and wishing you a a fantastic week!

Lovely autumn scenes! It’s rare to find an orange pumpkin here in New Zealand. Most that are in the stores are gray!

Love all your glorious autumnal hues, Soma. Walking in the rain, or perhaps dancing, is the best fun…no wonder you couldn’t resist. So many wonderful pumpkin varieties; love them and the glimpse of those Cosmos has made me impatient for ours to pop up in abundance. All your photos are glorious…..especially love the dancing rain drops and that gloriously hued, pastel sky.

You always capture the moments so beautifully. I loved the one with the leaf in the water and those pumpkins are really gorgeous in those colors other than orange.
Perhaps it will be a wet winter for us?????

Beautiful Soma! We don’t have pumpkin patches here; I should probably grow my one pumpkins. I enjoyed reading about your stormy walk!

Love your photos! I especially adore that sunflower :) We just got back from a brief trip to the Wisconsin Dells and the leaves were in full bloom there as well! Such a pretty time of year I can almost forget winter is coming.

Love these photos! I briefly thought about just going to a pumpkin patch to photograph pumpkins and now your photos are inspiring me to actually do so!
