Purchase Double Bass Pattern

It has been a long time since I made a musical instrument quilt pattern.  I love to play music so much that I try to play the violin and the piano very regularly, and occasionally strum the guitar too.  Recently though, I had to take a little break from playing for various reasons.  The idea of a double bass quilt pattern had been brewing in my head for a while.  So during my hiatus, I worked on creating this pattern and stitching the block.

I would love for you to meet my Story Book Teddy Bears.  They are two sisters.  They are in charge of all the stories that are being written at this very moment by people all over the world.  Of course, that would be too much work for just one little bear.  So they divide this enormous job between the two of them.

Thank you so much for joining me for another year of Trunk Full Of Quilts.  Today, alongside announcing the winners, I get to show you a few of my finishes.  As most of you know, I am a paper piecing designer, I use paper piecing to create pictures with fabric.  I draw the pictures free-hand and then turn them into patterns.  I also like to solve puzzles.  I like the challenge of simplifying complex shapes into simpler patterns.

Purchase Sunburst Star Pattern

Stars make everything bright and beautiful.  That’s probably why we keep using stars in our quilts.  Sunburst Star was a specially-requested pattern.  Since the day I made it and sent it off, I wanted to make this block for myself.  I had a pretty clear idea about the colours, and I was very happy to find all the right fabrics in my stash.  Although I am not very fond of batik prints, I bought the outer fabric because it makes me think of nebulas and stars.
