Welcome to this month’s Wandering Camera! For my new readers, Wandering Camera is a linky party hosted here on the last Thursday of every month. I usually share my photos, and occasionally artwork too, and I welcome you to share any photos or creative posts here. I have been sharing a few photos from the Oxford university area, along with a bit of related architectural history.

On the last post, I wrote about the Catte Street area. I would like to continue the journey from there. Right across the Sheldonian theatre is the Divinity School. The door in the middle of the large windows was inserted by Christopher Wren in the 1600s for easy access between the two buildings.

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to Wandering Camera, a monthly photo and art link-up. I am looking forward to sharing my travel and wandering photos with you, as well as seeing a bit of your world too. When I was hosting it before, I started sharing photos and an account of my visit to England in 2016. I love old architecture. Naturally, my travel started with exploring Oxford University and some of its architecture.

Wandering Camera – Magdalen College, Oxford

Welcome to this month’s Wandering Camera. This month I would love to take you around Magdalen College, one of the three colleges we visited in Oxford. After spending the morning at Christ Church, we made our way toward this beautiful college. If buildings have personalities, which I think they do, Magdalen College exudes the air of elegance and serenity, with its old stone structures adorned by flowering college gardens.

Wandering Camera – Christ Church, Oxford, UK Part II

Thank you for sharing so many personal anecdotes about Oxford on the previous Wandering Camera. Those stories give extra dimension to the places I visit and connects me a little more to the photos I take. Today I will continue with our visit to Chirst Church. Last time, I ended with exiting Bodley Tower and entering the Great Quadrangle.

The quad was started in the 16th century and left unfinished for a century. This would have been a cloistered area but that was left unfinished. The base structures for the cloisters are still visible. You can get an idea of how big the quad is, both from the previous photo and this one.
