Prints Available In Shop

Hi Everyone!  I have something really exciting to share with you today.  A few months after the beginning of Whims And Fancies, I started creating paper piecing patterns because I wanted to create quilt blocks from the images that I drew.  Drawing and painting have always been a part of my world, ever since I learned how to hold a pencil.  After months of sharing my paintings here and being encouraged by your kind words, I have decided to sell some of my artwork as prints.

Hi Everyone!  I am really excited to share photos of this painted bookshelf with you this month.  I love the romantics of magic and chose to paint a bookshelf. Specifically, a magician’s bookshelf.   I love to and tend to do a lot of research for my work.   I had a fantastic time looking into alchemy and magic.

We have been camping at my favourite campground in the High Sierra mountains for many years now because of the cooler temperatures.  Every year, I think about painting the beautiful mountains that surround the campground.  However, we always end up walking the mountain trails, playing board games, reading and perusing the night sky with my telescope instead.

Last time I was feeling too sick to paint en plein air.  So I made a quick sketch in my logbook noting down the colours.  As soon as I felt a little better at home, I finished the painting.

My husband uses a small pillow on his chair for lumbar support.  The previous pillow was bought during my pre-sewing days and it definitely had seen better days.  Just like the cobbler’s children go barefoot, my husband continued to use the lumpy, torn pillow for months.  My ego also wouldn’t let me purchase a new pillow because I had dug my heels in about making the pillow myself.  So I made a commitment to make it before the holidays and started thinking about design ideas.
