I think it would be beautiful if you had a plain white background, but I think those light gray alternating squares just take it up to another level. This is the type of quilt that would inspire someone to say “I just need to make a purple quilt now!” Really great work!

And I’m glad your kitty is on the mend! Mine was at the vet’s for two weeks in December, followed by a major surgery and two months of cone of shame wearing. He’s good as new now though! Amazing how attached to and worried about those little furbabies we get. :)
