I love to visit the Redwood National & State Parks during my winter break.  Even though I have visited these parks multiple times, the feeling I get while walking under these immensely tall trees never ceases to amaze me.   My husband and I walk the trails, take photos, and quietly feel the forest.  Today I want to share some of my photos, sketches, and the recent notebooks I made from one of the drawings I did there.

Hello Everyone!  A hearty welcome to all new readers and welcome back to the old faces.   It has been quite a busy winter holiday for me.  We traveled to a new country.  I made a few books for journaling, and I also got some art supplies for my birthday.  On the note of journaling,  I have a little tutorial to share with you today.

During the past few weeks, I was very determined to shake off this lackluster feeling I have been having.   I took a few day trips to the surrounding areas with my husband.  I started working on a quilt and a knitted sweater.  I also spent happy hours binding tiny books and working on this painting of our kitty Charlie.

Snowdrops!  It was love at first sight.  They don't grow where I live and I had only read about them in story books.  It was in England that I saw them for the first time.  When I started with the wildfower series block printing,  I already knew snowdrops had to be part of the set.   I started with photos and then paintings, and now I have made those lino prints and subsequent books using them.   Along the way, I have added on to my block printing tips page.
